PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has warned that the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other ministers will be strictly monitored on their performance.
Addressing a gathering of MPA-elects, the PTI chairman clarified that all ministers will be given targets to work for the welfare and development of the people which must be achieved.
He said that elected parliamentarians must not worry about the next five years, but instead focus on the next three months after which they will be evaluated on their performance.
Imran Khan stated that it was his responsibility to appoint the chief minister and others ministers which will be done based on merit. “There will be accountability for everyone and ministers will be given targets,” he stated.
He urged the elected parliamentarians to live up to the expectations of their constituents. Imran also stressed on alleviating poverty and deprivations in other provinces.
He stressed that change cannot come without sacrifice and it was essential to cut down on expenses, adding that a committee would be formed to curtail the prime minister, president and ministers.
He further said that no one would be issued any discretionary fund to ensure transparency, and all elected members should be careful in running the affairs of government.
The ministers will be on probation period for three month and their performance will be reviewed by a monitoring committee, and their portfolio will be taken back if their performance is unsatisfactory.
