According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a Corps Commanders Conference presided over by Gen Raheel Sharif today discussed the upcoming visit of the army chief to the United States (US), where he will clearly highlight Pakistan’s perspective of new regional realities.
The army chief is set to visit the US from November 15 to 20, which the analysts hold significant enough with regard to the Pakistan-US ties and the present situation of the region particularly the restoration of peace in Afghanistan and the Indian aggression at the Line of Control (LoC).
The conference held an exhaustive review of internal security situation of the country.
On the occasion, military commanders appreciated progress of ongoing operation and Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs), their achievements and effects.
Gen Sharif acknowledged full support of the nation for ongoing operations to eliminate terrorism and extremism. He, however, underlined the need for complimentary governance initiatives for long term gains of operation and enduring peace across the country.
The Corps Commander Conference also assessed the progress of National Action Plan’s implementation, finalization of FATA reforms, and emphasized on concluding all ongoing JITs at priority, which could undermine the effects of operations.
The COAS also directed to expedite return of temporarily displaced persons (TDPs), overcoming all obstacles for development works in affected areas and rehabilitation of all displaced families.
