Brigadier Zahid Khan,in-charge of the military operation in Bara region of Khyber Agency, in a media briefing at Bara training centre announced successful end of the operation.
He said the armed forces have established the government writ in the region.
Brig Zahid said that over 100 militants were killed during the operation, while around 450 terrorists have been arrested for their involvement in anti-state activities.
The Operation in-charge said that no militant group will now be allowed to take roots in the area.
The Pakistan Army had launched Operation Khyber-I in October 2014, to to clear Bara tehsil. The main aim of the operation was to clear the region from Bara until the border of Tirah valley.
The plains of Bara hold strategic significance for militant groups as they connect the agency to the outskirts of Peshawar. The key area straddles the Nato supply line into Afghanistan. Khyber Agency also links several agencies to each other, serving as a north-south route within Fata.
The region has been long fought over by a mix of militant organisations, including the TTP, the Ansarul Islam and Mangal Bagh’s Lashkar-i-Islam.
