MET Office forecast rainfall in some districts of Sindh

KARACHI: The MET Office has predicted rain in Sindh’s eastern and southern districts under the influence of the westerly trough still persists over east Balochistan, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

The weather department has forecast isolated rain-thunderstorms with occasional gusty winds in Jamshoro, Dadu, Hyderabad, Badin, Tharparker, Umerkot, Thatta, Sujawal, Tando Muhammad Khan and Tando Allayar districts today.

Partly cloudy weather is expected elsewhere in the province.

MET Office in a report yesterday said that “the westerly wave gradually moving towards southern Punjab region, (from Sindh).”

, that have a soothing effect over Karachi, will likely be restored from this evening and there will be no more chances of rain in the port city on Wednesday.

Federal Minister for Climate Change, Senator Sherry Rehman on Saturday said that Pakistan has been placed among the 20 countries where above-normal rainfall was predicted this year.

Due to the ongoing rains across the country till May 5, the Meteorological Department and NDMA expressed concern that there may be damage to standing crops, recently harvested crops and new sowing,” Sherry Rehman added.
