Mehmood-ur-Rasheed’s son found innocent in brawl with police

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed’s son has on Monday turned out to be innocent in the case of torturing police personnel in Lahore.

While, three policemen have been arrested and a case has been lodged against them. They have been charged with shooting videos of couples, during their duty time, and blackmailing them.

This should be noted that Mehmood’s son was accused of involved in indecent act at a public place near Ghalib Market in the city on October 1.

However, after a thorough inquiry spanning one and a half months, it has been determined that policemen were responsible for the falsely accusing them and seeking bribery.

“The police officials stopped the

car of Hassan Mehmood’s friend and sought Rs50,000 bribe which led to the brawl,” said the inquiry report adding that the culprits were also involved in shooting videos of couples and blackmailing them.

Police have locked up constables Nadeem Iqbal, Usman Mushtaq and Usman Saeed in jail and filed a case against them. Videos of couples were found in their mobile phones.

Earlier in a statement, Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Mehmood-ur-Rasheed said that the reports about his son were false. He had announced to step down from his post if his son was found involved in indecent activity.

He said his son was there to help his friends after he received a phone call from them that one of their friends was brutally tortured.
