RAWALPINDI: A medical board comprising senior doctors of Polyclinic Hospital has been set up to examine former premier Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz in Adiala jail and submit a report on their health, ARY News reported.
Sharif along with his daughter is returning home to face sentences awarded to them by an accountability court in the Avenfield properties reference.
Sources said senior physician Dr Asif will head the medical board which also comprises Dr Hamid Iqbal, Dr Imtiaz Ahmed and Dr Asma Kayani.
The board has been constituted on a request of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). It will examine the ex-PM and his daughter in Adiala jail after their arrival and submit a report on their health to the Bureau.
After nearly a month-long stay, the PML-N supreme leader and his daughter began their journey to Pakistan from London’s Heathrow Airport late on Thursday.
The father-daughter duo is expected to touch down at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore at around 7:45pm.
