Maryam rebuts claims of friction within PML-N ranks

LAHORE: Maryam Nawaz, the daughter of the former prime minister, has rejected the reports of groupings and disagreement within the ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) ranks.

Interacting with reporters here today, she said reports of disagreement within the party was wishful thinking of political opponents which will never come true.

Refuting rumours of her disagreement with MNA Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, who is said to have political clout in Punjab province, she said he was like her younger brother.

Responding to a question with regard to Hamza saying he loves the Pakistan’s armed forces, she said they should own sacrifices rendered by the forces, but every institution should work within its constitutional and legal parameters, which would be in the best interest of Pakistan.

She said the party leaders and activists are more united than ever before under the leadership of party chief Nawaz Sharif. “PML-N is and will always remain united,” she declared.

She said she had never seen such commitment and resolve in PML-N workers before.

Maryam said Sharif lived in the hearts of people because of initiatives he took for the economic development of the country.

Those doing politics of allegations will have to bite the dust, she said.

It was first of its kind case where a decision came first before an investigation, she said.

When asked whether the government will complete its tenure, she said she hoped it will complete the tenure.
