Male, female students barred from ‘unnecessary interaction’ at Khairpur University

SHIKARPUR: The administration of Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur, has barred male and female students from ‘unnecessary interaction’ at the campus with immediate effect, ARY News reported.

The circular ordering gender segregation in the campus has been issued by the varsity administration.

The order directs students to head to their respective homes and hostels after attending their classes at the university.

It further asks boys that they should avoid going near the girls’ common room at any time. The order clearly states that boys should not talk to girls outside the classes.

“Any student who avoid these directions will be liable to face serious action,” warns the circular.

In April last year, a similar kind of order was issued by the administration of Swat University, barring male and female students from intermingling on and off the campus.

The notice, dated April 14, 2016 and issued by chief proctor Hazrat Bilal said male and female students would be penalised if found mingling while on campus premises as well as outside the campus.
