CM Mahmood Khan directs for inquiry into delay in BRT Peshawar project

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Saturday directed the inspection team for inquiry into delay in construction of the bus rapid transit (BRT) Peshawar project, ARY News reported.

In a statement earlier, Mahmood Khan had said that soft opening for the project would be held on March 23, which could not materialise. He had warned that next course of action would be taken in case of delay.

CM Khan has directed the provincial inspection team to hold inquiry to determine who was responsible for the delay and present him a comprehensive report on it. He said strict action would be taken against those responsible for this.

Mahmood Khan said BRT Peshawar project was started for welfare and ease of poor people.

On March 22, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Information Minister Shaukat Yousufzai had said that the Peshawar BRT project would be completed by March 23.

In his statement, the provincial minister had said the province was lacking number of the buses for the project.

“In order to examine the flaws in the project, the provincial administration was starting its test service”, the minister had said.
