Lyari residents reserve the right of protest: Saeed Ghani

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Saeed Ghani on Wednesday said that not providing the Form 45, 46 and 47 of NA-246 is worst kind of rigging in the 2018 general elections.

The PPP leader released a statement saying that PPP believes that valiant and loyal residents of Lyari have voted for Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. However, he said that election commission’s credibility was a black spot as the elections were stolen.

Saeed Ghani said that patience of residents of Lyari should not be tested because they are standing firm with the PPP and its leadership. He warned of strong protest by the people of Lyari if form 45, 46 and 47 is not provided in NA-246.

Bilawal shockingly lost the stronghold of Lyari in the general elections on July 25 securing a mere 39,325 votes and was placed at a dismal third.

PTI’s Abdul Shakoor Shad won the seat by securing 52,750 votes, followed by Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) candidate who bagged 42,345 votes.

Consequently, Saeed Ghani stepped down from his position as the party’s Karachi president after he was reportedly asked to come up with the reasons behind the party’s poor show.

The PPP has once again emerged as the dominant force on Sindh winning a simple majority of 71 seats. The party swept in Kashmore, Sukkur Dadu, Jamshoro, Thatta and Qamber-Shahdadkot districts.
