New Zealand thrash Bangladesh by 75 runs in World T20 game

New Zealand won the toss and chose to bat first in the dead rubber match. They managed to score 145/8 in their 20 overs.

Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson was the top scorer for the team with his 42-run knock from 32 deliveries with the help of five boundaries and a six.

Colin Munro contributed 35 runs from 33 balls with a boundary and two maximums to his name while Ross Taylor scored 28 runs from 24 balls after hitting two fours and a six in the innings.

Mustafizur Rehman was the pick of the bowlers as he took five wickets after conceding 22 runs in his four overs.

Al-Amin Hossain grabbed two wickets while Mashrafe Mortaza dismissed one Black Caps batsman.

Bangladesh require 146 runs to win from 20 overs with required run rate of 7.30 runs per over.

Bangladesh, chasing 146 runs to win, were back in the pavilion after scoring 70 runs in 15.4 overs with only three batsmen scoring in double figures.

Shuvagata Hom was the highest scorer for the team with 16 runs from 17 balls with the help of two boundaries.

Sabbir Rahman and Mohammad Mithun scored 12 and 11 runs respectively for the team after hitting a boundary each.

Grant Elliott and Ish Sohdi took three wickets each while Mitchell McClenaghan, Mitchell Santner and Nathan McCullum grabbed a wicket each.

It should be noted that New Zealand have already qualified for the semi-final stage of World T20 after winning their three Super 10 matches whereas Bangladesh have been knocked out of the tournament following their three losses.
