LHC rejects contempt plea against police operation at Zaman Park

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has rejected PTI chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan’s contempt plea against the police operation at Zaman Park, ARY News reported.

As per details, Justice Tariq Saleem heard the contempt plea filed by PTI chief Imran Khan in Lahore High Court (LHC) against the Zaman park police operation.

The Chief Secretary, IG and CCPO Lahore submitted a written response in the court which stated that the operation was conducted to clear the no-go area on the direction of the government and it was not a contempt of the court.

asked the court for permission to take back the contempt plea filed against the Zaman Park police operation.

Earlier, the former premier and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan filed a contempt of court plea against the police operation at his Lahore residence.

The petition stated that the police force carried out an ‘illegal operation’ at his Lahore residence residence on March 18 and violated his fundamental rights. Khan stated in his petition that the Lahore High Court (LHC) stopped the police from any action which was violated.
