A three member bench, headed by Justice Khalid Mehmood, heard the petitions. The bench asked Attorney General that what happened when the court had suggested Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to visit Imran Khan at his house. Attorney General replied that his client has consulted the opposition parties for the peaceful solution to the crises.
The court said that the situation will intensify if the issue is not solved via dialogue. The bench further remarked that 22 people have already been killed and more people are feared to be killed in the future.
“Who will be responsible if any untoward incident takes place” court asked.
PTI lawyer, in his arguments, said that Azadi March will be held within the constitutional limits, on which the
court remarked that PTI wants to end the government while representing eight percent of the masses. The court asked that why the party lawmakers did not resign from the Parliament if they had complaints of rigging.The court further added that PTI is using the right to represent the masses and the right to protest as well.
“Judging by the press conferences being held nowadays it will be said that the courts are favoring the government”, bench further remarked.
The bench adjourned the hearing till 03:00 p.m today and ordered Attorney General to seek advice from the Prime Minister as how the issue can be solved peacefully whereas the PTI lawyer was ordered to contact Imran Khan and present his demands in the court.
