LHC directs anti-corruption department to arrest those who submit feigned applications

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday directed the anti-corruption department to arrest those who were submitting feigned applications and put them behind the bars, ARY News reported.

“What did you do when somebody gave an application and you found nothing during investigation,” the high court asked the director anti-corruption during a hearing against a Faisalabad contractor.

The director anti-corruption apprised the court that action would be taken against those giving fictitious applications.

The LHC inquired that who that blue-eyed person was on whose request an inquiry was initiated. The court said one should verify first if a complaint had been filed against somebody.

It said the anti-corruption had created complete chaos in the system.

On the other hand, the petitioner said political revenge was being taken from him as he had contested election on a PML-N seat in Faisalabad.

On February 20, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had conducted hearing into contempt of court case against director general, Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Lahore, Hussain Asghar.

A three-member SC bench headed by Justice Azmat Saeed Khosa had conducted the proceedings.

Justice Khosa had asked the ACE head that complaints of harassment were received against him from director general Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Amna Imran and mayor Lahore Col Mubashar Javed.
