The decision was made during the bureau’s Executive Board Meeting (EBM) on Friday.
“The EBM decided to close the investigation against Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Finance and ex-Minister for Commerce, which was pending for closure since 2001, due to lack of incriminating evidence,” the spokesman said.
The sum was not disclosed by the spokesperson but according to the NAB website, the minister has been accused of possessing assets beyond his sources of income.
The details mentioned in website states that the money included $1,250 million, £3.488 million and Rs. 32 million.
It should be noted that the NAB decision has proved Dar’s claims of having no corruption cases against him wrong.
The finance minister expressed delight over the decision and claimed that the corruption cases against him were politically motivated and he would go to the court against those having involved in the ploy.
