KP police foil major terror plot in Charsadda

CHARSADDA: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police has foiled a major attempt of terrorism in Charsadda by arresting two key suspects and recovering a stockpile of arms and ammunition including two suicide jackets, nine missiles, 100 hand grenades, and three kilogrammes of explosive material, ARY News reported on Friday.

The arrested suspects hailed to proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP)’s Sheikh Khalid faction who were allegedly involved in various heinous crimes, police sources said.

According to police, both suspects involved in as many as 109 terrorism incidents, were taken to undisclosed location for further interrogation. Elite Force personnel are conducting search operations in various areas of Charsadda city to apprehend other accomplices of arrested terrorists and prevent any untoward incident.

Separately, police arrested 19 miscreants during raids at different areas of Peshawar. Police recovered narcotics and weapons from the possession of the arrested suspects.

Meanwhile, police apprehended 14 suspects in a crackdown against miscreants in Mardan city on Friday. The suspects were allegedly involved in various crimes in the city.

However, details pertaining to identification of the suspects were not shared.
