Security guards of the MQM-P leader and local residents immediately caught the man, who was reportedly carrying no other weapon than a knife and the attack was only intended to mug him and carried no similarity to the popular contemporary knife attack incidents in which the assailant was attacking women only.
It is apropos to mention that knife attacks in in Karachi have gone rampant these days, specially in and around Gulistan-e-Johar area.
At least 15 women have been fallen victim to knife attacks in last 13 days.
The motive behind the knife assaults on women in the metropolis is still shrouded in mystery, besides the number of attackers involved in the assaults as Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah on Friday claimed a major clue had been found in connection with Karachi knife attacks.
MQM-P MNA Fauzia Abdul Hameed has demanded from the chief minister Sindh to resign over demonstrating ‘helplessness’ in nabbing the culprit.
