Khyber militants involved in Peshawar flight attack: police

PESHAWAR: Investigators have found evidence about involvement of Taliban militants in attack over a PIA flight, while it was landing at Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport on Tuesday night, ARY News reported on Saturday.

A woman passenger was killed and two crew members were injured in the shooting incident on June 24th.

The police department has wrote a letter to the political administration of Khyber Agency and Darra Adamkhel seeking help in arrest of the militant group.

The police has also demanded handing over of 629 proclaimed offenders hiding in the tribal region.

According to police sources, the investigation team has disclosed that the militants’ Shahid Group has been involved in the attack. The group has been affiliated with a banned organization based in Khyber Agency.

The authorities have also decided to fix  Rs. 10 million head money over the gang leader Shahid alias Baange.

Peshawar Police has also demanded the political administration to handover 629 proclaimed offenders hiding in the region.
