SHO Saleem Rajput was caught red-handed by Anti-Violent Crime Cell personnel for seeking Rs 2 million ransom from family of two traders.
The cop had got abducted two traders and later demanded Rs 2 million to release them. He also called traders’ family member outside his police station to collect ransom money.
A case has also been registered against him.
Sources informed that the SHO had tainted record in police service.
He was previously also found involved in criminal activities and was later suspended. He could now be dismissed from service, the source added.
