KARACHI: In a major development, the parents of a boy, who lost his life after falling from a ride in Karachi’s Clifton Park, have decided against legal proceedings in the incident, ARY News reported on Thursday.
An investigation was launched into the death of 17-year-old Waliullah after falling from the swing ride. Surprisingly, the parents of the deceased boy have no desire for legal action to be taken into the incident.
In a statement regarding the incident, a friend of the deceased stated that they had gone to Clifton’s Park with friends where Waliullah and another friend sat in the swing ride, which spun two or three times before started spinning reverse.

“Waliullah’s cap flew off during the spinning of the swing, and he attempted to grab it but ended up falling off the swing,” the friend of the deceased said.
Following the incident, the group of people picked him up and rushed him to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and died.
Police officials recorded a statement and an FIR has been lodged against the incident under Pakistan Penal Code 174 – Not obeying a legal order to attend at a certain place in person or by agent, or departing there from without authority – and have stated that there was no negligence of the park administration.
According to police officials, the incident occurred due to the mistake of the boy, resulting in the loss of his life. The body will be handed over to the heirs after legal proceedings.
