JIT evidences concocted against PM, claims Marriyum Aurangzeb

ISLAMABAD: Casting doubt on Panama Papers Joint Investigation Team (JIT)’s report, State Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb alleged the investigation team of concocting evidences against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif rather than procuring them.

Talking to media after the hearing of Panamagate implementation case in the Supreme Court, she said that a petition has been filed by the Sharif family to seek provision of Volume X of the JIT report and declaring the unverified documents as inadmissible.

Terming the report false, she decried the Panama Paper investigation and lamented that the JIT’s probe is still ongoing.

The information minister also accused JIT of compiling its report with an ill-intention. “The language used in the report reflects their malicious intention towards the Sharif family,” she added.

The reservations Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz had against the JIT earlier have stayed and the language used by JIT members in the report shows their bad intentions towards the Sharif family.

Referring to opponents, she claimed that no allegation of wrongdoing has ever been proved against the premier despite several attempts.

Meanwhile she condemned the blast in Peshawar.

Joining in conversation, Daniyal Aziz also blamed the JIT for overlooking significant facts in the report while reiterating that it is not the final verdict.

Commenting on the Calibri font, Aziz argued that it was available since 2004. He said that the lawyer ignored the most likely point in the statements and moved ahead without reading the whole line.
