Security forces arrest 11 ‘terrorists’ in Balochistan raids: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) arrested as many as 11 ‘terrorists’ affiliated with banned Baloch Republican Army (BRA) during various intelligence-based operations (IBOs), the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.

According to Pakistan Army’s media wing, the arrests were made in South of district Sibbi’s Sanni Shoran, Dera Bugti’s Ilyasi Nullah, and Dukki area.

A large cache of arms and ammunition were also seized during the operations, ISPR said.

The raids were conducted as part of ongoing countrywide Radd-ul-Fasaad operation by Balochistan Frontier Corps, Levies, and other intelligence agencies, the military’s media wing added.

In a separate raid, security forces recovered four improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from Qila Saifullah which later defused.

Yet in another raid earlier today, security forces thwarted a terror plot by seizing a huge quantity of mortars and a cache of arms during an operation carried out in Balochistan’s Kohlu district.

Kohlu Deputy Commissioner Agha Nadeem Akhtar said the forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in Kahan area of the district and recovered 181 rocket propelled grenades (RPG), 172 RPG fuse, 80 RDS, arms and ammunition.

Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad was launched in February after a sharp rise in terrorist attacks in the country.
