Islamabad seeks Kabul cooperation for safe border management system

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has once again demanded Afghanistan to cooperate with Pakistan for a secure and safe border management, press information department reported.

“Terrorists are the common enemy and both the countries should adopt joint strategy to eliminate them,” Foreign Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said in an interview on Tuesday.

He said that some elements in Afghanistan are playing in the hands of peace-enemies and Pakistan has presented proofs regarding such elements to Afghan government.

Nafees Zakaria said that Pakistan is playing its due role for a secure border and Afghanistan is responsible to take concrete measure for this purpose on 2,600 kilometers long borders between the two countries.

He said that the purpose of border fencing is to provide protection to the armed forces and the general public. He said that the Afghan government should not allow any terrorist to use its soil against Pakistan.

The spokesman said Pakistan will allow every Afghan Citizen who has valid document to cross the borders.
