ISLAMABAD: Civil Aviation Agency on Monday dismissed the manager of the New Islamabad International Airport over the presence of stray dogs, ARY New reported.
Five stray dogs entered the main building of the airport after being unnoticed by security and other staff members and starting barking at passengers crating panic among them.
However, Director General CAA sprang to action over the absence of security staff and instructed to make efforts to suspend airport manager Asghar Faheem Khattak and declare him ‘on special duty’.
CAA spokesman said that a video of the presence of stray dogs went viral on social media and news channels prompting the aviation agency to take strict action against the manager.
Karachi airport manager Sardar Javed Atiq has been appointed as the new airport manager in Islamabad.
He has been replaced by Zafar Itemad who was previously the airport manager in Islamabad and was transferred after action was taken over the accumulation of rainwater in the airport.
In a separate incident, passengers on a flight from Islamabad to Karachi were shocked over the presence of a bat on the plane. This prompted airport authorities to take action and remove it.
