Ishaq Bobby’s relative involved in Karachi airport attack: officials

KARACHI: Two years after the deadly attack at Karachi airport, officials revealed that at least two terrorists involved in the attack were locals, ARY News reported.

According to officials investigating the attack, two locals namely Majid and Ehtesham were involved in the 2014 attack on the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. Majid is said to be a relative of Ishaq Bobby, a suspect recently arrested in qawwal Amjad Sabri’s murder case.

Both Majid and Ehtesham were residents of Karachi’s Orangi Town and investigating officers said their bodies will be exhumed to obtain their DNA.

The officials added that the family members of the suspects fled the airport after the attack but their DNA samples were taken.

In June 2014, 10 militants armed with automatic weapons, a rocket launcher, suicide vests, and grenades attacked Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. 36 people were killed, including all 10 attackers, and 18 others were wounded.
