KARACHI: The Government of Sindh has removed provincial police chief Iqbal Mehmood and asked him to report to the federal government, ARY News reported Thursday.
Mehmood was appointed three months ago as inspector general police (IGP) on April 7.
Previously, he was appointed to be the acting IG Sindh in February, after the retirement of the previous IG Sindh Police Shahid Nadeem Baloch.
Sources informed that Fayyaz Ahmed Laghari or Ghulam Haider Jamali might replace Mehmood as IG Sindh. The Sindh government, however, is yet to make any formal announcement in this regard.
