Darul Sehat Hospital to undergo inspection before its unsealing: Dr Azra

KARACHI: Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho on Friday said decision to unseal Darul Sehat Hospital will be taken after thorough inspection of the sanatorium, ARY News reported.

Speaking on the floor of the House, the minister said currently the hospital was partially closed and admission of new patients had been stopped.

She underlined that the hospital was also facing dearth of staff hence availability of sufficient strength of medics will also be kept in view before reopening the hospital.

The health minister said negligence of doctors was also a major factor that led to death of nine-month-old Nishwa.

Pechuho said it was revealed during the probe that ninety percent of the hospital staff was unregistered.

Meanwhile, she also informed the assembly that two children in Larkana were tested positive for HIV. She said a complete report in this regard will be presented before the House soon.

“Four teams have been sent to Larkana to conduct HIV tests.”

Ater battling for her life for past eight days, nine-month-old Nishwa breathed her last on April 22 at Liaquat National Hospital in Karachi.

The medical case of the minor girl came into light on April 14, when she was reportedly administered a wrong injection by the staff of Darul Sehat Hospital, which resulted the paralysis of Nishwa.
