Inquiry team finds no evidence of woman’s rape at Lahore hospital: report

LAHORE: An inquiry committee found no evidence of rape of a woman at the Services Hospital in Lahore, said a report released on Monday.

According to the probe committee report, the inquiry team took statements of 21 employs of the hospital but did not find any evidence of sexual assault against the plaintiff.

The report said the a 35-year old women was hospitalized at the Services Hospital at 9 am on November 23 and was discharged at 7 pm on November 24 but she did not register any complaint against the employees at that time.

It is pertinent to mention here that a 35-year old women had registered a rape case against the unidentified employees of Service Hospital at Shadman police station.

According to the first information report, she had gone to the Services Hospital after feeling pain in her lower abdomen. She was admitted to the woman’s surgical ward-II on Nov 23 and taken to the operating theatre for surgery at 7:30am the next morning after being administered with anaesthesia.

She said after the surgery she was discharged the same day at 7pm, but later felt pain and went to Sheikh Zayed Hospital where she was told that she had been raped.

Faisalabad: Nurses beat up ward boy over attempted sexual assault

Nurses in Faisalabad’s Civil Hospital had tortured a ward boy over his alleged attempt to sexually assault a trainee nurse on March 2.

According to reports, a ward boy named Sikander tried to sexually assault a trainee nurse in a hospital room but the nurse escaped and told about the incident to fellow nurses upon which they had started beating the ward boy.
