A press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs read:-
The High Commissioner-designate of India, Mr. Gautam H. Bambawale, paid a courtesy call on Syed Tariq Fatemi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The SAPM welcomed Mr. Bambawale to Pakistan and wished him a successful and productive tenure. He highlighted the important role of Mr. Bambawale in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
