Indian attempt to malign Pakistan through baseless accusations regrettable: FO

Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria in a statement said Indian forces were using brute force against innocent and defenseless Kashmiris, including children and women.

The spokesperson said the atrocities had intensified since the extra-judicial killing of Kashmiri youth leader Burhan Muzaffar Wani in July this year. He pointed out that in the last 75 days, Indian occupation forces had brutally martyred over 100 Kashmiris, blinded hundreds and injured thousands.

In response to queries regarding Indian Prime Minister Modi’s address in Kerala in which he tried to malign Pakistan, the Spokesperson said that it was unfortunate that Indian leadership continued to indulge in a well thought out vilification campaign against Pakistan by making provocative statements and baseless accusations. He said such irresponsible display of behavior at the highest political level was regrettable.

Zakaria said the international community had taken notice of the blatant human rights violations, with concerns expressed by several countries as well as United Nations and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. He said there were increasing demands of independent investigations and fact-finding missions to be sent to Occupied Kashmir.

“While India has cast aspersions on Pakistan, it continues to sponsor terrorism in Pakistan directly through its state apparatus. The arrest and confessional statements of a serving Indian Navy officer and intelligence operative, Kulbhushan Yadav, reveal beyond a shadow of doubt as to how India fuels terrorist activities in various parts of Pakistan, including Balochistan and FATA,” he said.
