India seeks consular access to Jadhav, Pakistan denies request

ISLAMABAD: india seeks consular access to jadhav. Indian High Commissioner in Islamabad Gautam Bambawale called on Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua here demanding consular access to Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua said that consular access could not be allowed to a spy.

Indian envoy Bambawale later talking to media here said that he had filed an appeal with Pakistan Foreign Secretary in connection with the Kulbhushan Jadhav case.

“I met Pakistan’s foreign secretary today and filed the appeal which is to be done within 40 days for consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav. I requested for the early release of Jadhav,” Indian envoy talking to the media here said.

India is seeking consular access to Jadhav apart of the copy of the chargesheet and a copy of the court verdict.

Kulbhushan Jadhav has been awarded death sentence by a military court under charges of espionage.
