PASRUR: Indian forces on Friday resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violations along the Working Boundary for the second consecutive day.
According to the assistant commissioner of the Pasrur city, Indian troops resorted to firing in Kundan Pur, Thathi, and other sectors of Sialkot. However, no casualty or injured reported as a result of firing, he added.
A day earlier, two women embraced martyrdom and five other civilians including three women sustained gunshot wounds when Indian Border Security Force resorted to unprovoked firing along the Working Boundary in Sialkot.
According to the army’s media wing, the civilians were targeted in an unprovoked cross-border firing in Chaprar sector’s Kundan Pur village.
Punjab Rangers retaliated to neutralize the Indian BSF posts, ISPR said in a statement.
Earlier this week on Monday, four Pakistani servicemen were martyred in cross-border shelling by Indian forces on the Line of Control in Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s Jandrot sector.
The soldiers were busy working on communication lines in Jandrot sector when they were hit by a mortar round fired by Indian forces, the ISPR stated on Monday.
As a result, four soldiers embraced martyrdom.
Three Indian soldiers were also killed and a few others wounded when Pakistani forces retaliated, the military’s media wing said.
The cross-border shelling had come on the heels of Indian army chief Bipin Rawat’s threats to launch military offensive to “ramp up pressure on Pakistan to stop cross-border terrorism in Kashmir.”
