In his exclusive interview to the anchorperson, Waseem Badami during ARY News program ’11th Hour’, Imran Khan said that the government members are trying to mislead the people by waging negative propaganda against PTI. He said that he had accidentally met Dr Tahirul Qadri in London and he has also met him earlier to that, but the Islamabad sit-ins had never been a part of their discussion.
Khan questioned how can anyone plan to stage sit-ins for such a prolonged time, it is just that the people came out in support of his stance and are still protesting against the government.
He said that some of the ministers also tried to give an impression as if the military is backing Tehreek-i-Insaf and Awami Tehreek, but this notion ended soon and everyone witnessed it.
The PTI chairman said that the actual ‘London plan’ was the ‘Charter of Democracy’ signed between PPP and the ruling PMLN, which was to rob the national treasury by coming into power one by one.
When asked by Badami that how both the parties unified in the struggle against the government, Imran Khan said that it was also a coincidence, adding, “I had been warning of coming on roads for the past 14 months, in case our rigging allegations were not probed”.
He said meanwhile Model Town incident took place and the PAT was demanding for the registration of its FIR.
The PTI chief said that the government itself opened two fronts simultaneously, after it failed in addressing the demands of both the parties.
“I had visited the Minhajul Quran Secretariat to extend my sympathies to the PAT chief, Dr Tahirul Qadri over the brutal killing of his party workers. PTI’s agenda was of rigging, while PAT was protesting against state oppression on its workers, these were two different things”, said Imran Khan.
The PTI chief said that PTI and PAT neared each other when the government declined to listen to the demands of none of the two. However, he admitted that later consultation did take place between the leaders of both the parties to mount pressure on government to accept their justified demands.
Moreover, Khan expressed his determination saying, “No matter even if Dr Qadri calls off the PAT sit-in, I am going to stay at D-Chowk Islamabad until the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif resigns”.
