Imran Khan unveils plan for awarding PTI tickets to candidates

LAHORE: Former premier and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has unveiled the plan for awarding the party tickets to the candidates ahead of the Punjab elections, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

While addressing PTI workers at the Iftar party, Imran Khan announced to select three activists from each district of Punjab and allot a number to them. He added that the selected workers will highlight the issues of their districts.

Khan announced to begin interviews for election candidates on Thursday and vowed to remember their opinions for the upcoming polls. He said that real independence was not an easy mission and it needs sacrifices.

The PTI chief said that the Supreme Court (SC) backed the Constitution and buried the ‘doctrine of necessity’. He termed the SC verdict historic in the election delay case.

He said that the courts were backing powerful personalities and

the doctrine of necessity in the past. Khan said that those nations who took decisions in accordance with the Constitution become independent and only slaves used to take decisions under the doctrine of necessity.

The former premier said that they are struggling for real independence which comes through justice. He appealed to the PTI workers to urge the nation to stand up for real independence.

Earlier in the day, Khan said the threats of martial law are unconstitutional and added that the days of invoking martial law are over now.

Imran Khan said that if the Supreme Court’s decision is not accepted, it means that the law in Pakistan is over and we are moving toward the law of the jungle۔

The PTI chairman said that if the elected government did not have the authority and that authority was elsewhere then no administrative system could work.
