KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) governor-designate Sindh Imran Ismail was denied entry to Quaid’s mausoleum this morning, for carrying an excessive number of people in his ‘entourage’.
Apparently displeased with the mausoleum’s administration, Ismail tweeted: “We were denied access to Mazar e Quaid today for Fatiha, while PPP delegation led by CM to be was allowed & accompanied by Commissioner khi. With full CM Protocol.”
His tweet ended with a message in Urdu: “Abhi to
deewar giranay ki baat ki hai” (we just talked about demolishing the wall(s)”. He made this statement in reference to recently-debated remarks of Imran Khan in which he had said to ‘bulldoze walls of governor houses in Pakistan to make them public spaces.’Dignitaries and important figures pay visits to Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi on occasions like Independence Day and Pakistan Day (March 23) to pay homage to the founding father of the country.
