He was talking to media on the occasion of the inclusion of three former PPP members in PTI. These included Saifuddin Khosa, Niaz Khan Jakhar and Bahadur Khan.
Imran Khan welcomed the former PPP leaders into his party.
In his address to the newsmen, he said that he does not intend to put the people of Faisalabad in any difficulty, adding that the sole purpose of his move to shut down Faisalabad was to pressurize the government in order to preserve the sanctity of ballot.
He said under current circumstances we have this only way to protect our rights.
The PTI chairman said that the politics of ‘settlement’ has ruined the country and the government is at complete liberty to do anything in the presence of a friendly opposition.
He excused the people of Faisalabad saying that our aim is to rid the masses of problems, for which they will have to suffer a bit, yet the independence is destined upon them.
Khan said our demands are justified, while we also stepped back from PM’s resignation, yet the Nawaz-league has now backed out from the formation of the judicial commission to probe electoral irregularities.
He also said that his party has no objection on the appointment of Justice (R) Sardar Raza as the new Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), however the rest of the ECP members should also step down for the restructuring of the commission to take place.
