ISLAMABAD: While finding the replies of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s son Hussain Nawaz unsatisfactory the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) that is probing the allegations against the PM and his family in the Panama Papers asked Hussain to come up with comprehensive replies.
The JIT, headed by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) additional director general Wajid Zia, questioned the PM’s son for over two hours but he couldn’t give any satisfactory answers to the questions put to him, said sources privy to the in camera proceedings.
They said dazed Hussain kept on beating about the bush when questions regarding the ownership of the London flats and money trail behind them were raised by the JIT.
Thus, the JIT gave him a questionnaire about the properties in question and asked him to turn up along with comprehensive replies on Tuesday when it would resume its proceedings.
After his appearance before the JIT on Sunday at the National Judicial Academy to have his statement recorded, he said he had received a notice from the JIT on Saturday which asked him to appear within 24 hours.
He said he would present his viewpoint along with his counsel Advocate Fazal Ghani and denied that he was given any questionnaire by the JIT.
