RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qammar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday said that Pakistan desires enduring peace with its neighbours, but warned that any hostile action anywhere along the frontiers shall be responded most befittingly.
They army chief was presiding over the 75th Annual Formation Commanders conference at the General Headquarters attended by all general officers of the army.
Gen Bajwa briefed on geo-strategic environment, progress of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, operational preparedness against conventional threat and matters concerning national security.
The army chief said the state of stability achieved after countless sacrifices by the security forces, law-enforcement agencies and the nation shall be consolidated to have a normalised Pakistan.
Referring to his recent visits to frontline field formations along eastern and western frontiers, General Bajwa appreciated the high state of operational readiness and morale of troops especially displayed in response to recent ceasefire violations.
The forum also deliberated on the situation in FATA, recent measures for better Pak-Afghan border management, impending FATA reforms and reiterated the need for reform process in line with aspirations of the people of FATA.
They also discussed the improving situation of Balochistan and resolved to continue meaningful contributions towards stability and progress of the province with support of its people. The forum also resolved to continue operations in Karachi, Punjab and elsewhere till sustainable stability is achieved.
The forum also reviewed progress and security of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, focusing on a creater a further secure environment for timely progress of the significant mega initiative.
The participants expressed complete satisfaction with the steps taken by the army and resolved to protect geo and ideological frontiers of the country.
