Hassan Nawaz leaves for London: sources

LAHORE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s younger son Hassan Nawaz, who came to Pakistan for recording his statement before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing offshore assets of the PM and his family, has left for London on Monday, ARY News reported.

Hassan Nawaz appeared three times before the JIT during his stay in Pakistan. He had accused the probing team of pressurizing the premier by holding grueling questioning sessions with his children.

Sources said Hassan has left for London today evening.

It is pertinent here to mention that Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has already asked the apex court to put the premier and his family’s name in the Exit Control List for fear of their fleeing abroad.

The team probing the money trail of the ruling family’s offshore properties in its final report recommended the top court to file reference against the prime minister and his two sons under NAB Ordinance.

According to ARY News Islamabad Bureau Chief Sabir Shakir, the JIT said in its report that:

“PM’s sons, Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz, and his daughter Maryam Nawaz failed to produce satisfactory evidence in the offshore companies allegations against them.”
