ISLAMABAD: Hajj flight operation began on Monday as Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) first flight departed with 328 pilgrims on board from Benazir International Airport, Islamabad early Monday morning for Madina, ARY News reported.
Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf arrived at the airport to see off the pilgrims.
Speaking to media on the occasion, the minister said that comprehensive arrangements have been made in the holy cities of Makkah and Madina to facilitate the pilgrims in the best possible manner.
Another flight of a private airline left with more than 300 pilgrims on board at around 6:00am from Jinnah International Airport, Karachi for Jeddah.
Four hundred and twenty-six flights from different parts of the country will transport over one hundred and seven thousand pilgrims to Makkah and Madina. The flight operation for Hajj will be completed by 26th of the next month.
