Gullu Butt hugs Tahirul Qadri in Supreme Court

ISLAMABAD: Gullu Butt — the infamous baton-wielding man caught on camera vandalizing property during violence in Model Town in 2014- on Wednesday surprised everyone by hugging Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Tahirul Qadri upon his arrival at the Supreme Court, ARY News reported.

As seen in the video, Butt, who was released after a three month sentence back in March 2017,  not only greeted Tahirul Qadri upon his arrival during the hearing of the case related to the carnage but also hugged him.

Butt can be seen shaking hands with Tahirul Qadri and then hugging him in the premises of the apex court. The PAT chief perhaps responded to his greeting and hug unknowingly before police officials pulled Butt back.

Gullu Butt was released from jail on the orders of Lahore High Court last year, after he was sentenced by an Ant-Terrorism Court.

While talking to media, Butt had put his forehead down on floor in salutation to God and had said freedom was a big blessing.

He also begged pardon from the people for damage he had done to their properties during the mayhem of model town carnage

The police assault outside the residence of Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri killed 14 people including women and injured around 100 on June 17, 2014.
