Gujranwala: One killed, 8 injured in cylinder explosion

GUJRANWALA: A boy was killed and eight others injured in a cylinder explosion at a shop in Gujranwala, ARY News reported Sunday.

The incident occurred in a native village Kila Sika of Gujranwala during gas-filling in a cylinder at a shop. Fire erupted in a shop after the explosion occurred.

At least 8 people including children were burnt following fire eruption. Rescue teams reached the spot shortly after the incident and helped shifting the injured to District Headquarters Hospital.

Fifteen-year-old Ali Hamza succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital. The injured persons include 24-year-old Shamshad, Sajjad, 16; Zeeshan, 10; Sameer, 8; Ahmed, 13. They were shifted to Lahore in critical condition.

Police have begun investigation into the incident.
