Govt writes letter to SC to form commission on elections rigging

The SC on Wednesday received a letter written by the Ministry of Law, urging the Chief Justice of Pakistan to name three judges of the apex court for the judicial commission to probe rigging allegations.

It was further mentioned that the commission will have to submit its report within three months, while the Chief Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk was also requested to appoint the registrar of the commission.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in his address to the nation, had announced to form a judicial commission comprising of SC judges, after the protest campaign by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf intensified and took the form of a long march.
