Govt prepares list of 94 PTI leaders including Imran Khan to be arrested

LAHORE: The government has prepared a list of 94 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders to be arrested, including PTI chief Imran Khan and other senior leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jahangir Tareen, Shireen Mazari, Aleem Dar, Azam Khan Swati and Asad Umar, ARY News reported.

ARY News has got the list which contains names of the PTI leaders and their addresses.

Reporter Zulqarnain Haider said the operation in this regard could be started tonight. First divisional officials would be arrested, then after getting go ahead from the interior ministry the senior leadership of PTI would be arrested.

Earlier in the evening, Punjab police arrested Ashiana actor and PTI supporter Kashif Mehmood from his residence in Valencia Town, Lahore, during a raid. He was later released after a brief detention.

Exclusively talking to ARY News, he said: “I do not know as to what felony had I committed which led the police to arrest me from my house in a manner as if I was a wanted criminal.”

He said if supporting and voting Imran Khan was a crime then he was a criminal. He suggested that we should, specially the government, create tolerance in society.

Talking to media, the PTI youth leader’s brother had said police violated sanctity of his house by climbing into it through ladder. They also beaten up the family members, he said.

Thousands of PTI workers arrested

Punjab police have started crackdown against PTI leaders and workers across province and arrested a large number of activists from different cities including Multan, Lahore and Faisalabad.

ARY News reporter Babar Khan said thousands of PTI workers have so far been arrested across the province. While, police have prepared category-wise lists of PTI leaders to be arrested.

On the other hand, Punjab police also raided house of Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader and senator Kamil Ali Agha in a bid to arrest him, however he was not present at his home.

The ruling government had last Sunday devised a policy to systematically counter PTI’s proposed sit-in on November 02.

Sources said lists of PTI leaders were divided into three categories – A, B and C.

“Category A includes names of central leadership and elected assembly members of PTI, category B includes names of district and divisional officials and category C includes names of mobilizers, facilitators, activists and financers other than chairmen and councilors,” they said.
