Unveiling policy for international NGOs during a press conference here, the interior minister announced a policy for INGOs envisaging on-line registration and signing of MoU specifying domain and areas for working of these organizations.
“The procedure for registration of INGOs has been simplified and the government will facilitate all those who want to work for some good cause in the country,” said the minister.
He said registration of the INGOs found to be indulging in any illegal funding, financing, or interaction with proscribed organizations will be automatically cancelled.
The minister said a monitoring committee was being set up in the Interior Ministry to ensure that the INGOs confine themselves to the specified activity and areas. He said previously some NGOs were working outside their allowed domain and areas.
He said the MoU would remain in force for three years and foreign nationals will need visa for their arrival in the country and the nature of the visa would not be changed.
