ISLAMABAD: Government has started consultations over how to foil much-touted Islamabad shutdown of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on 2nd November, ARY News reported.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting of the federal cabinet in Islamabad on Wednesday and discussed PTI’s Islamabad shutdown call.
According to sources, the federal government has decided to contact the political parties to take them into confidence over the Panama Leaks probe.
The government has also decided to activate the administrative machinery to counter the efforts for imposing siege on the capital city.
Opposition PTI has announced to stage a protest sit-in in the federal capital on November 2nd to press for its demand of inquiry against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Panama Leaks.
PTI chief Imran Khan has said that the sit-in would continue until the prime minister presents himself for accountability over Panama Leaks or resigns from his office.
Tehreek-e-Insaf had earlier decided to shut down Islamabad on October 30 but later the party decided to change the date to November 2nd.
Imran Khan has warned the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of serious consequences if the government will try to stop the “peaceful protest” of his party by any means.
