KARACHI: Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ibad says propaganda is being hatched against law enforcement agencies in the provincial capital with an attempt to hamper their operation against criminal elements.
Speaking to media here, Ibad claimed a huge network of criminals had been busted in the wake of operation carried out by law enforcement personnel in Karachi.
Regarding allegations of sanctity of religious books kept unguarded during the search operations, governor Sindh said those were all baseless allegations.
He added that: “the law enforcers are also Muslims and they are well know about respecting religious values.”He ruled out that LEAs demonstrated any carelessness while conducting a search operation any worship place.
Police on Monday clashed with protesters of a religious group who blocked vehicular traffic at the National Highway against arrest of political and religious leaders during raids by LEAs.
The religious group’s workers continued their protest in Karachi’s Malir area this morning against arrest of some leaders of the group after recent targeted killings in the city.
Police used tear gas shelling and aerial firing in an attempt to disperse the protesters, who were obstructing railway tracks in the area and bringing morning traffic along the National Highway to a standstill.
