KARACHI: A conglomerate of German and Chinese firms has jointly offered Sindh government three important health sector projects including a 200-bed cancer hospital, 200-bed organ transplant hospital and 30-50 bed emergency centres on Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis.
The top management of the foreign firms RE Tech German Group and China Rainbow Investment Company (CRIIC) in a joint meet with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah offered to launch three important health sector projects BOT basis.
The German and Chinese firms were represented by Chairman CRIIC Mr. Li Dacan, Project Manager Mr. Sun Ruining, and CEO RE Tech Mr. Arshad Raja, Director RE Tech Prof. Shahid Azeem Mirza.
The first project is the state of the art 200-hundred bed cancer hospital along with proton therapy. The other project is a 200-bed organ transplant hospital and the third is an emergency center (30-50 bed hospital) along with trauma center with the support of air ambulance. This would be the first ever project in Pakistan.
It may be noted that these emergency centers will be established on district level and will be available for the local population meant for basic treatment will be made available to the local population who have to visit nearby town or cities.
These centers when functional will reduce patient load in government hospital and the ambulance service will have trained and qualified manpower under the supervision of German experts. They offered to completely revamp and upgrade the health system in the province on international standards.
CM Sindh said that he has declared emergency in health and education sectors, and have achieved some results in health sector and striving for better results.
He directed health department to organise a meeting with them and discuss the projects and priorities develop the modus operandi to implement the projects with recommendations.
Sustainable Farming
The firms also jointly gave a proposal to the provincial government for introduction of sustainable farming ecosystem in the province.
CM Sindh was given a presentation in which it was said that they jointly want to introduce sustainable farming ecosystem for producing poultry, cattle, goat and sheep meats and dairy cows.
The firm have the expertise to develop and execute a complete integrated farming system, with a farm-to-fork business model in the province to meet both domestic and global lucrative markets.
This would be a holistic integrated project with vertical and horizontal integration. The farm-to-fork concept where every aspect of farming is completely under control, so from breeding, feeding, growing, slaughtering, cutting, processing, packaging, storing and brand marketing are operated under the highest global quality standards.
The meeting was told that presently 1.8 billion people all over the world demand halal food and the international halal market is growing rapidly.
CM Sindh directed the livestock department to hold a separate meeting with the group to work out a proposal which could be implemented in the province.
“We have to introduce modern farming methods and technologies in the province to improve agro economy,” he said.
