ISLAMABAD: General elections for the national and four provincial assemblies will be held in the country on July 25 as President Mamnoon Hussain approved a summary sent by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in this regard on Saturday, ARY News reported.
ECP had sent a summary to President Mamnoon Hussain, proposing three dates for holding the upcoming general elections. The commission proposed three date from July 25 to July 27 for the president to decide.
The President House spokesman today said that the president has signed the summary and has approved July 25 as the date for general elections in the country.
The five-year constitutional term of the National Assembly and the Punjab Assembly will end on May 31 while the Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan assemblies will complete their terms on May 28.
