RAWALPINDI: International hockey players from the visiting World X1 team and several Pakistan hockey legends on Tuesday met with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
According to a statement from the Inter Services Public Relations, the army chief appreciated the initiative by the Pakistan Hockey Federation for bringing the world players to Pakistan.
He assured PHF of Pakistan Army’s support for provision of security for international hockey matches and revival of the national game.
PHF president Brig (retd) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar thanked Gen Bajwa for his keen interest and efforts for sports activities in the country.
The World XI won a two series match against Pakistan. The first match was played on January 20 in Karachi which the World XI won 5-0. The second match held in Lahore on January 22 was a draw.
